Crypto deposit stuck at confirming: what to check before contacting exchange support

A deposit that shows as confirming or does not appear at all is usually waiting on the blockchain, a missing memo or a network mismatch. Here is a calm order of checks for Binance, OKX, Bybit and Bitget users in Pakistan.

Few things feel worse than sending crypto and watching the exchange balance stay where it was. In most cases nothing has been lost. The transfer is waiting for confirmations, it was sent on a different network from the one the address belongs to, or a memo was left out. The four big exchanges handle each of these cases differently, but the checks you can do yourself are the same. Working through them in order usually tells you within minutes whether you need to wait, add information, or open a support ticket.

Get the transaction hash from the sender

Everything starts with the transaction hash, sometimes called TxID. If you sent from your own wallet, it is in that wallet's history. If a P2P seller or a friend sent the coins, ask them for it directly; without the hash, support cannot trace anything. Paste the hash into the explorer for the network that was used. If the explorer shows the transaction as pending or not found, the issue is on the sending side, and the exchange cannot credit something the chain has not confirmed.

Compare the network and address on both sides

Open the deposit page on your exchange, choose the coin and look at the network the address belongs to. Then look at the network shown in the sender's record. USDT, for example, exists on several networks, and a deposit address for one will not automatically receive on another. If the networks match and the explorer shows a confirmed transfer to your address, the next step is the confirmation count. Each exchange shows the number it requires on the deposit page or in the deposit history entry.

Memo, tag and minimum amount

Some coins share one deposit address among many users and identify you with a memo or tag. If the deposit page showed a memo and it was not included, the coins usually arrive at the exchange but cannot be matched to your account automatically. Similarly, a deposit below the minimum shown for that coin and network may not be credited. In both cases, open the deposit history, look for an option to report a missing deposit or recover funds, and follow the form rather than sending the coins again.

When to open a ticket and what to include

Open a ticket only after the explorer shows the transfer as confirmed to your address and the exchange still has no record after the stated number of confirmations. Include the coin, the network, the amount, the transaction hash, your deposit address and a screenshot of the explorer page. Write in plain English and keep it to one message. Never share your password or authenticator codes, and ignore anyone on social media who offers to speed up a deposit for a fee; genuine support works through the help centre only.

Scenario checkpoint

  • Ask the sender for the transaction hash before doing anything else.
  • Check the transaction on the explorer for the network that was actually used.
  • Confirm the network on the exchange deposit page matches the sender's network.
  • Use the missing-deposit or recovery form if a memo or tag was left out.
  • Open a ticket with coin, network, amount, hash and explorer screenshot once confirmations are complete.
